Following a DNA test that confirmed Toast as a purebred dog, animal rescuers in Texas announced that she will soon be available for adoption despite initial suspicions of her being a coyote.
In February, the Dallas Animal Services stated that they had requested a DNA test to determine whether the puppy, discovered near a dumpster by Dallas police officers, was a dog, coyote, or a combination of both.
In a recent Facebook post, Animal Services announced that the DNA test results have confirmed Toast’s identity as a 100% domestic dog.
The results of the DNA test revealed that Toast is a combination of three breeds: German shepherd, Siberian husky, and Australian cattle dog.
Toast has been cleared for adoption, according to officials.
