The Smith County Rescue Squad was called to the scene Tuesday night when several alpacas got caught in barbed wire. The rescue team dubbed it “The Great Alpaca Rescue” and spent about 30 minutes to free one alpaca that was badly wrapped up. A few more alpacas also needed some help to get out of the barbed wire. The squad said they are ready to assist people, pets and farm animals in need. They thanked the 14 members who participated in the animal rescue.
The rescue squad of Smith County said they were sent out Tuesday night when several alpacas got caught in barbed wire.
The rescue squad said in a Facebook post that one small alpaca was badly entangled when they arrived. They spent around 30 minutes to release the animal.
They also said a couple of other alpacas required assistance to get out of the barbed wire.
The post said: “We are an organization that assists people, pets and farm animals in need. We are grateful to the 14 members who saved these animals.”
