A dynamic duo of British bodybuilders achieved a remarkable feat by shattering a Guinness World Record, successfully deadlifting an astounding weight of 997.5 pounds.
Sam Taylor and Sue Taylor-Franklin, a married couple, known for their previous record-breaking achievement in the fastest 20-meter A320 aircraft pull by a team of two (female), had initially set their sights on another ambitious goal: to conquer the record for the heaviest deadlift by a team of two (female).
Due to Taylor’s unfortunate knee injury, their aspirations to break the record were dashed. However, undeterred by the setback, the couple enlisted the help of their friend Izzy Tait to join forces with Taylor-Franklin in their pursuit of the record at the U.K.’s Strongest Woman event, held at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.
With a record to surpass set at 641 pounds, the duo effortlessly shattered the existing benchmark on their initial attempt, achieving a remarkable 997.5-pound deadlift.
Taylor emphasized the immense significance of Pride Month as they celebrated their groundbreaking achievement, highlighting its vital importance.
According to Taylor, Pride Month offers a valuable opportunity to contemplate the past and acknowledge the individuals who paved the way for the liberties they currently enjoy. This is precisely why it holds immense significance for Taylor and her wife as they actively advocate for equality.
